Revd Daniel Tsoi is of Chinese heritage and was born and raised in Hong Kong. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2024. He currently serves his curacy at St Nic’s Church Nottingham of the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, focusing on developing the church to be more intercultural. He had his ordination training at Cranmer Hall Durham and just submitted his doctoral thesis on research about the understanding and experience of the Eucharist among the Iranian Christian converts from Islam in the Church of England. He has a range of theological interests, including practical theology, contextual theology, missiology, interfaith relations (especially Islam), ecumenism and sacraments. He is a trained spiritual director of the Ignatian tradition and is actively involved in the racial justice work within the diocese. Before following God’s unexpected and somewhat unusual call to Anglican ordained ministry, he worked as a psychiatrist in the NHS and taught in the medical school.
When he finds time, he loves travelling and enjoying diverse cultures (especially the food) in the world God created. He is married to Tracey, and they are the slaves of their teenage daughter Abigail, their dog Rocky and their cat Sooty.
